MANAGING DIRECTOR

Wayne is well-known in the demolition industry for his ability to manage complex and demanding deconstruction projects. His 40 years’ building and demolition experience makes him one of the most experienced operators in the industry.

Wayne began his career as a carpenter / joiner, working his way up to a foreman / site management position before moving to Australia to manage Cole Build.

In the mid-1990s, Wayne returned to New Zealand to manage building services for TBS Farnsworth. 15 years on, with a host of building awards under his belt, he saw the opportunity to do his own thing.

“I was having a coffee with Sebastian one day and said I wanted to set up a world class demolition company in New Zealand". And Sebastian said ‘me too’. And so Green Way was born.

Wayne is responsible for methodology and planning. He oversees the estimating staff and work crews – scheduling, programming and forward works, resource management and client liaison. He is respected in the industry for his problem-solving abilities, even on the most difficult jobs.

Wayne and Sebastian jointly tender the more complex projects. They are both involved in research and buying of specialist plant – for example, a Husqvarna robotic demolition machine, high frequency concrete cutting equipment and asbestos abatement equipment., to make sure that they offer the safest and most efficient technology.

“We offer engineered deconstruction solutions. We’ve built a business around doing jobs that are too hard for the competition. My extensive building background is another commercial advantage. Demolition is just building in reverse and our site management team always includes someone with vast building experience.”
